Health insurance has it's own set of problems. Are you in network or out? Does this insurance go to ACN or ASHN? What is the deductable, co-pay or is this an 80/20 plan? How do I know the patient has paid all their co-pays?
When your new patient calls your office for care where health insurance is involved, your staff fills out a simple form and I take care of the rest.
Within two business days, you will know in writing the limits of your new patient's policy.
How much the co-pay is, is there a deductible, are their limits to the policy and does the office need to do a pre-certification.
These questions will be answered before the patient has arrived at your front door.
All major medical claims are billed on a daily basis.
New patient statements are printed and forwarded to your office each day with the daily mail. This covers all the co-pays, 80/20 etc that are still outstanding.
